The most important component in the blood of someone watching their kidney health is phosphorus. Even in a healthy kidney, it is most often overlooked because of its normal values. It only comes to focus on when dialysis is needed then it is watched closely.
Usually, a kidney friendly diet is prescribed only to people with Stage 4 and 5 kidney disease. It is safe to assume that people in these stages are already into dialysis. A balanced kidney diet monitors potassium, phosphorus, calcium, protein and sodium levels. If you are not in the later stages of kidney disease, this exact diet might not work for you. But with a little tweaking and substitutions, someone who wishes to lose weight can very easily follow the diet because of its several allowable exchanges.
If you are not yet on dialysis but have been warned to take care of your kidneys because of your susceptibility to kidney disease, then it is understood that you need to take care of your kidneys so that they do not reach the point of collapse.
The most important thing to keep in mind is to eat foods rich in antioxidants and nutrients. For kidney health, the foods rich in antioxidants above should always be on your supermarket list. Make sure that you eat sensible amounts of these foods and you can be sure that your kidneys will be in good shape.

Kidney Health says
Hey guys, I wanted to share an emergency kidney detox cleanse for those of you who might be desperate to try something that is fast and convenient. First of all, I ended up doing this method because my back hurt terribly from damaged kidneys and I was desperate to find a fix before I had to go to the hospital. I was on dialysis 4 years ago and have not been back, hoping to fight the war myself. My doctor had recommended I take 100% magnesium a day. I have a bottle of magnesium where each pill provides 60%, so taking 2 of them would put me at 120% for the day. The problem is not even that can keep up with a high protein diet. For about 2 weeks straight we had nothing but a meat diet which was a big mistake. Steak, pork tenderloins, chicken, you name it we consumed it. All of that built up in my system and my kidneys felt like they wanted to give up. I did not want to do anything but sleep! Well finally after getting the nerve up to try something out, I dropped 10 magnesium pills which gave me a 600% magnesium according to the label. I took them with a small glass of water and then mixed a 1/4 cup apple cidar vinegar in a 8 ounce glass of water. Ok the apple cidar vinegar did not go down well, but in about an hour – 2 hours I was feeling so much better. The pain in my back had eased off ALOT. After 24 hours, I took another 300% magnesium (5 magnesium pills) to keep the magnesium going through me and the pain had nearly vanished. I am going to do this mix in another 2 days. in the meanwhile I am taking 300% magnesium everyday. It seems to be helping out alot. I also plan to throw in some milk thistle and possibly activated charcoal capsules in the next week hoping to stamp out whatever it is that is causing the pain. Anyhow, this is not intended to cure any kidney disease or renal failure, but it is an emergency mix that I took personally that staved off the back pain and cleaned me out a bit. This is pretty much a good retailiation in followup to a big protein meal or any eating habits that might have triggered kidney pain. I know its tough to deal with this everyday, so I hope this helps anyone who has found this post who is in pain over bad kidneys. God Bless.
